After immigrating to the US at the age of 5, Wen quickly picked up the camera and made video his 1st language. In 2009 he was featured on MovieMaker Magazine. In 2014, Wen's short film ‘Cafe Glass’ premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. In 2019, his first feature, ‘Last Sunrise,’ (produced by Alibaba Pictures & Youku) won over 10 major awards, making it the first Chinese film to be awarded at several genre film festivals. Wen's screenplay, "M0Y1," won "best screenplay" at the 2020 China Sci-Fi Competition jurored by Liu Cixin, and in 2024, his coming-of-age feature advanced to the 2nd round of the Sundance Development Track. With 15 years of experience across Hollywood and China, Wayne is now the Head of Content at a vertical drama platform—He is currently represented by CAA.
